Welcome video

“Make a welcome video at the start so that the first impression is positive”

Once the initial login hurdle has been overcome, employees should ideally get an inspiring first impression so that they are happy to come back and tell others positively about Just Social. Since the news makes up the majority of the first impression and many users only look at the knowledge-oriented apps Wiki and Drive later, the project team should focus at the start on posting attractive news content in the first few days and weeks.

We therefore recommend shooting a short welcome video to welcome employees — after all, Just Social creates a digital space that must be filled with life. In addition, the video usually briefly explains the motivations and use cases of Just Social.

In most welcome videos, members of the management and the project team, among others, speak. Other employees often have their say in order to include as many areas, professional groups, locations, etc. as possible — after all, the intranet or employee app is there for everyone.

The welcome video doesn't have to be long or expensive. Since, in our experience, authentic communication works best, a short, freely spoken welcome video recorded with a smartphone is often more likeable and better than a professionally produced, staged video.
