“Organize a naming contest so everyone can participate”

Our customers had very good experiences with a naming competition for their Just Social system:

Our clients' name competitions have been consistently positive so far: More than 100 suggestions are often submitted, resulting in a lively discussion on which everyone has an opinion: this is how the (high) expectations for launching a social intranet or employee app can be met or even exceeded.

In addition, the sentence “people support the world they help create” applies: Involvement in finding the name strengthens identification with the system and fits into a “social” intranet — a digital place for all employees from all employees.

The results of the naming competitions were also inspiring: from VRRitz (VR Bank Berlin) to Intrahaus (intranet of the city of Ahaus) to Marlon (for Marl online, city of Marl) — so far all customers have been very happy with the name and would do the competition again at any time.

Despite the name, the system's URL is usually not changed, as all employees might have to log in to the mobile app again. Instead, the company name is often combined with a generic term:

These URLs may be less emotional, but they do a good job of explaining what it's about. The just.social extension also has the great advantage that this is also the name of the app in the App Store and on mobile devices. In combination with the company, employees usually think of the app as a solution programmed specifically for the company, which increases identification. We therefore recommend choosing the URL company.just.social — our customers have had very good experiences with it so far.
